Like Pulpit Rock another quarrying relic , a stack close to the Coast Path, left behind in this former Admiralty quarry above East Cliff .
The Quarry provided the stone needed to build the two Harbour breakwater arms between 1849-1872
The name "Nicodemus Knob" is derived from a promontory at East Weare, which was referred to as "Nicodemus Knowle" until Victorian times.
