The remains of a Castle rebuilt 1432 - 1460 , the Rufus or 'Bow and Arrow Castle' was a remodelling of a much earlier castle.
The original castle was thought to have been built at the end of the 11C for William II ,
William Rufus, also known as Rufus the Red, son of William the Conqueror.
There is no public access to the castle as it is privately owned
