A section of Striking Red cliffs stands out amongst the Bude formation Carboniferous Rocks .
Since this outcrop is so remote from the main area of red cliffs on the south Devon Coast ,
it is difficult to decide whether it belongs to the Permian Period or to the younger Triassic Period.
