Looking over the Bay to Clavell Tower on Hen Cliff
To the East of Charnel , low tide reveals an excellent exposure of 'The Flats' Stone Band (Dolomite Limestone) showing Expansion Megapolygons.
The cliffs and foreshore contain a very thick sequence of the Kimmeridge Clay , in a succession
of hard bands of yellow-brown Bands of Limestone , Clay , Bituminous Clay , Oil Shale .
