Looking Westward along the Budleigh Salterton Pebble Bed towards Littleham Cove.
The pebble beds up to 30m (100ft) thick above the Aylesbeare Mudstone , formed when well rounded pebbles of Quartzite (a Hard Sandstone) were deposited by fast flowing rivers .
A fault here in the Pebble Bed with Honeycombe Weathered Otter Sandstone above the pebbles.
The bottom of the Otter Sandstone is marked by a distinctive Yellow Band.
The Sand has lost most of its colour by water leaching out the Iron .
