This stone circle dates from the Bronze age and surrounds a burial mound.
A little ring cairn of about 16 upright stones, standing up to 0.7m high, surrounding a slightly raised
7m diameter internal area .
Myth suggests that 'The Nine Maidens' are women who had not obeyed the Sabbath day and danced
on the moor on a Sunday.
Situated on a West facing slope overlooking the East Okement River Valley.

Location - On the edge of northern Dartmoor , above Belstone (south east of Okehampton).
Route - from Belstone Village Car park / take the road to the moorland gate on Watchet Hill
(some car parking here) / path to the South West leads to the monument.
