Merrivale Settlement
An impressive number of Roundhouses in this area from about 1500BC.
In the distance is Merrivale Quarry (Tor Quarry) , 1875 - 1997 , one of the 3 great Quarries of Dartmoor.
In the early days the stone was taken to the railway at Tavistock by horse drawn wagons .
