South Devon - Geology
The cliffs at the northern end of Thurlestone Sand are formed of Permian Age red - browny purple coarse breccio-conglomerates
(cobbles in a pebble and gravel matrix).
They lie unconformably on the Lower Devonian Meadfoot Slates which are made up of varying colours.
