Crystalline Calcite - Crystal Cave (S37)

To the north of Broadsands Beach , south of Shell cove , is an area of rocky foreshore and 25m of cliffs
with extensive deposits of Crystalline Calcite.
The small cave in the headland was once famous as a natural wonder , but has been damaged by mineral collectors.

The Cave can be reached from the coast path by taking the tunnel under the rail line to a grassy area , then the southern track through scrub down to the shore. Visit on a low tide.
