Tidal Pool - Firestone Bay
A popular tidal swimming pool.
A long sea wall behind the bay , from 1827 , protects the SE side of the Victualling Yard
A tunnel running below the road , through the wall, gives an alternative sea access to the Yard.
The tunnel was used to transfer light goods from ships when the tides were to strong for a passage round the
notorious Devil's Point
