Greenstone - Porthleven Cliffs (S22)

The rocks in the Porthleven Cliffs are mainly fine grained sedimentary rocks ( turbidites).
When the turbidite sediments were still wet and unconsolidated , they were intruded by basaltic sills.
In the Pic , Mylor Slates (Turbidites) are on the left with Metadolerite (Greenstone) on the right ,
a sill some 10m thick , the Contact Zone is bleached.
