In the summer months Place can be reached by taking the ferry across the "Carrick Road" waterway to St. Mawes and then another ferry to Place.

From Falmouth to St Mawes - the St Mawes Ferry operates - all year , depending on weather conditions , from the Prince of Wales Pier / Custom House Quay

From St Mawes to Place - the Place Ferry operates (1st April - 29th Oct) , depending on weather conditions , landing on to a tidal pontoon at Place Creek .
Taking the roads to reach Place adds 8 miles to the route.
