From Freathy the Coast Path tracks the Military road for about 2 miles.

Just passed Tregonhawke is Whitesands Bay Battery - built by 1893 , near Stone Farm
at the top of Tregonhawke Cliff , armed with three - 12.5 inch rifled muzzle-loaders
and two 6 inch breech-loaders and fortified against land attack with a dry moat protected by three caponiers.
Disarmed in 1920 , now within a caravan park.
