Gallery 43 - Isle of Portland to Lulworth Cove
A small cove with natural arches cut into steeply-dipping Purbeck Limestones.
The arches and a gap formed from a collapsed Cave allow the sea through
to erode the softer parts of the limestones and shales.
Landward the Soft Wealden Clays / Sands slump southwards towards the sea, coating the Limestone with Red Marl.
