A small Quay operated here and below the Clavell Tower, where barges were loaded with Blackstone (oil shale).
Clavells Head is a pinch point on a low tide walk from Kimmeridge Bay ,
the next access point is Chapman's Pool .
This part of the Coast has four tides per day !
