Expansion Megapolygons / Kimmeridge (S44)
At low tide the Cliff Top at Broad Bench gives a fine view over an interesting compressional structure on the Ledge -
Expansion Megapolygons.
'The Flats' Stone Band (Dolomite Bed) has polygonal patterns of small thrusts formed by expansive crystal growth
of Ferroan Dolomite under about 1000m of burial .
The surface of the Ledge also shows a small scale rectilinear joint system.
