Looking to the west along East Cliff
The Cliffs beween West Bay and Burton Bradstock are the result of Cyclic Sedimentation during the Lower Jurassic (175 MYA).
The Sandstone is in alternating bands of soft and harder horizontal layers of sand , the hard layers contain more calcium carbonate.
The natural colur of the rock is Blue / Grey which oxidises to the dramatic Reds and Oranges.
