Red Cliffs of Mercia Mudstone capped with Upper Greensand and a layer of Clay with flints.
Either Side of the River Sid at Sidmouth are the dramatic Red Sandstone Triassic cliffs ,
of Mercia Mudstones formed in Desert Conditions with Seasonal Lakes about 220 MYA.
