Orcombe Rocks
The Orcombe rocks display an excellent coastal section of sandstones,
siltstones and mudstones from the Permo / Triassic Periods.
The boundary between the Similar looking Triassic and the Permian is disputed.
The Triassic Period Rocks (252 - 201 MYO) start at Orcombe , ending near Lyme Regis
where the Jurassic Period Rocks ( 201 - 145 MYO) start.
White Chalk Cliffs - Cretaceous Period (145-65 MYO) around Beer.
