On the West side of the Dart Estuary
The earliest part is from the 1380's
Unusually incorporating the church of St Petrox.
Built into an artillery fort , with a Gun Tower , between 1486 and 1495.
An Iron chain was installed which could be stretched across the harbour to a tower at Gommerock.
