The Megalithic Standing Stone is one of only 3 examples of a true Menhir on Dartmoor -
an isolated stone not connected to other monuments,
and in unlikely settings for boundary or marker stones - others are Hanging Stone (SX 583 636 )
and Beardown Man Standing Stone (SX 5960 7963)
The Bronze Age Menhir ,also known as Harbourne Man, is situated about 120m east of the
head of the Harbourne stream.
The profile of this 2.4m high narrow stone is triangular . It has an Inscribed OS Bench Mark.

Location : West of Buckfastleigh / East of Avon Dam
A direct Route : Park at Moor Cross (SX 705 638).
A FP leads to the open Moor , the Menhir can be seen straight ahead on high ground.
