Looking from the platform on the south side of the beach ( possibly the Wharf of the old Quarries )
over Petit Tor Beach to Roundham Point

Fulton's and Woodley's Marble quarry operated here sawing the 'marble-style' Devonian Limestone / Breccia ,
and transporting the bocks to Teignmouth.
Later the Woodleys brought the marble blocks up to a factory in St Marychurch .
Blackler's Marble Quarry operated higher up the cliffs.

Grey Feathered 'Petitor Marble' had a feathery appearance from its coral content.
Fossil Clouded 'Petitor Marble' was pink and red with many fossils.
