Blackingstone Rock or Blackystone is a large outcrop protruding from the landscape.
The rock is coarse grained Granite with large crystals of feldspar embedded in it.
Bluebells appear in profusion in mid may , followed by a dense cover of Bracken.

Location - North East section of Dartmoor , east of Moretonhampstead.
Car Park (SX 786 856 ) in the lane , north of the Rock , leading to Blackingston.
A track winds around the Tor .
