Brent Tor Church
The Church of St Michael De Rupe , located at 1100 feet on the top of Brent
Tor is one of the highest working churches in England
Brent Tor is a prominent conical shaped hill , a landmark for miles around.
The hill was formed during the Lower Carboniferous period from submarine Balsatic Lavas .
A small Church (40x14ft) with a 32ft high tower.
The church was founded in 1130, although most parts of the structure date
from C13 and C14 , the tower was either added or rebuilt in C15. Built from
Local Volcanic stone . Restored 1889-1890.
