From Hexworthy Bridge the minor road continues to Combestone Tor and Venford Reservoir.
A much visited Tor with adjoining Car Park , the rocks are squat / a popular bouldering area /
fine views over the Dart Valley.
In the foreground is a granite block showing the holes left when it was split by the Plug and Feather technique -
a number of holes are cut or drilled , plug and feather sets - comprising a metal wedge (the plug)
and two shims (the feathers) are inserted in the holes , the plugs are then struck with a hammer ,
eventually a crack appears , and the granite splits.
