Langstone Standing Stone with White Tor in the distance.
The Langstone is a 2.75 m. Stone with a distinctive shape , the only standing stone on Dartmoor composed
of a metamorphic rock local to Whittor instead of Granite .
Damaged during WW2 it shows bullet holes on the west face.
The Standing Stone forms the Southern terminal
of a single stone row .
The row is in poor condition with only a few very small stones standing ,the tallest is only 0.3m high.

Location : North of Tavistock , East of Peter Tavy , on the edge of the Merrivale Firing Range "Danger Area".

Route : Through Peter Tavy , passed the Church , first right - unsigned road - dead end .
Park in an old Quarry , Bridleway leads to the Stone , 3km away.
