130 + crosses can be found in the Dartmoor National Park.
Some are in Churchyards , others are Navigational aids or mark Medieval Routes between Abbeys , Memorials ,
for Prayer, as Town or Market Crosses.
This cross was built by a well know artist called William Widgery and unveiled in 1887
to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee.

Location - On the North Western edge of Dartmoor , North of Tavistock.
Route - A gated narrow lane ,off the A386, just to the north of the Dartmoor Inn , Lydford ,
leads to a moorland parking area.
Track to the north east , near a field wall , leads to a footbridge / stepping stones on the River Lyd. Brat Tor is ahead .
