Hingston Hill Stone Circle and Row

This impressive monument is situated on a saddle 600m east of Down Tor
The alignment is 316 m long and contains 150+ stones ,curving and rising at both ends from a central low point .
Guarding each end of the row are two standing stones, the largest one at the western end is 2.8 m high
and at the eastern end 1.6 m and the remainder vary between 1 m and 0.2 m in height.
A large Enclosure of 43m diameter (a possible Pound) and a large Cairn are near the eastern end ,
also in the area are more cairns /cists, prehistoric settlements and reaves.

Minor road passed Dousland / Burrator Res. to Car Park at the east end of the reservoir.
Route : FP to the East passed Down Tor.
