A close up view of the Permian Breccia on Oddicombe Beach.
The 'Oddicombe Breccia' is a kind of sandstone formed in a desert environment ,
when flash floods moved fragments of rocks (Clasts) through dry valleys to an open plain.
The rocks are set in a fine grained Matrix .
A conglomerate has rounded clasts while a breccia has angular clasts.

Oddicombe Beach is to the north of Torquay .
The beach can be reached from The Coast Path or from Babbacombe Downs Road by the Cliff Railway.
