In the south east cliff of Hope's Nose are raised beach deposits of pebbles and shells cemented into a
soft sandstone with Sand above and Devonian Limestone below ,
Thatcher Rock in the distance.
A good path , off the Coast Path, by the excellent infomation board for this SSSI leads down to the Raised Beach.

The Raised beach , 9 metres above sea-level , is 'Ipswichian ' in age about 125,000 - 210,000 years old.
