Tufa - Porth Kidney Sands (S15)
The Shelly Sand Dunes above the Lelant Cliffs at Porth Kidney Sands allow Calcium Carbonate rich water
to flow over the cliffs .
A long section of cliff shows Tufa deposits.
Tufa is a soft porous Calcium Carbonate (Usually Calcite) that precipitates out by evaporation .
Flowstone (a crystalline form of Calcium Carbonate ) is in a cave and adit.

A FP off the Coast Path (nr. Lelant Church) leads , under the railway line , to Porth Kidney Sands.

Porth Kidney Sands is near Lelant - on the west side of Hayle Estuary in Section 15
