Alfred Wallis Tombstone / St Ives - 1
The tombstone of the St Ives artist Alfred Wallis (1855 - 1942 ) in Barnoon Cemetery overlooking Porthmeor Beach
Celebrated for his 'primitive' style of painting , he was self-taught, and never had an art lesson.
Wallis painted seascapes from memory.
He died in the poor house in Madron.
