Gallery 15 - Portreath to St Ives
Looking down on one of the man-made bath shaped pools in Smugglers Cove on the west side of Portreath beach.
6 holes were cut into the rock , around 1780 / 1800 , at different levels to catch the tide , for Lady Basset ,
whose father believed in the healing powers of cold seawater.
One of the Baths is just inside a Cave.
