St. Cuthbert's Well / Flowstone

Steps cut in the rocks at the Cave entrance lead to a magnificent series of stepped calcareous basins,
filled with clear cascading waters, surrounded by rocks covered with buff, pink or green tinged deposits.
Flowstone is formed when Calcium Carbonate precipitates out of Calcium rich water by evaporation.
See at Low tide with a Torch , safest if the tide is going out as it is possible to be cut off on a rising tide .
