Sandrock - Trebetherick (S10)
Sandrock is limited to the North Cornwall Coast - Trebetherick , Harlyn Bay , Godrevy , Fistral .
Formed when the sea level was higher than now - some 190,000 years ago.
Beach sands with a high calcium carbonate content from shell material became cemented together
to form the Sandrock.
The easy to cut rock was used in the building of some Churches in the area - such as Crantock.
