Lankidden Headland / Carrick Luz is largely Gabbro - a Dyke intruded into the Serpentine Coastline.
The Cove to the East of the headland has this small rocky outcrop with
Dunite Veins in the Peridotite and large chunks of Red Serpentine .
The Criss - Crossing Veins are Dunite (an Olivine - Rich Peridotite).
The veins are probably the pathways of magmas or fluids ascending from deeper mantle levels.
