The Beach and the Black Rock beach resort is at the foot of a wooded valley ,
At low tide sand and numerous rock pools are exposed , at high tide the beach mostly disappears.
Part of the pier on the east side of the beach forms a tidal bathing pool
At low water it is possible to walk along the foreshore westwards to Plaidy Beach
and East Looe and eastwards along Bodigga and Keveral Beaches to Seaton
