An evergreen sea cliff plant with greyish , succulent leaves and pale greenish - yellow flat topped flowers .
Has an unpleasant smell - a pungent, sulphurous aroma and strange flavour - very carrotty .

better when boiled or steamed for about ten minutes / popular as a pickled vegetable in the 16th and 17th centuries.
