This small Cove has the most southerly beach in the UK - next to Lizard Point, a major visitor attraction.
The beach disappears at high water. It is dominated by a former Lifeboat Station (1859 to 1961) and slipway.
The Lizard station was extremely exposed and in certain conditions launching lifeboats here was difficult.
The RNLI Lizard Lifeboat Station is now at Kilcobben Cove.
