A group of Spring Squill flower heads.
Spring Squill - "Scilla Verna" are low / short hairless perennials forming bulbs .
With narrow basal leaves , grass like and often curly , and erect leafless stems bearing 6-petalled star-shaped,
flat or bell-shaped violet-blue flowers , with bluish bracts .
Following DNA analysis they are now classified as members of the Asparagus family (Asparagaceae).
