
The fine-grained Elvan of Granitic composition , was quarried in and at the top of the cliff .
The Elvan can be traced inland for about half a mile to an overgrown quarry in the valley behind Pentewan Village
The probable source of most of the Stone - Pentewan Stone - used in old buildings.
