The Beach at Porthcurno

At the back of the beach behind the Lifeguards Hut is Porthcurno Cable Hut.
Up to 14 submarine telegraph cables terminated at the Cable Hut with Landlines
from the hut to the equipment in the Cable Station.
The first cable to land at Porthcurno was from Carcavelos, Portugal, in 1870.
The Fibre Optic Cables that now come ashore at Porthcurno (6) and Sennen Cove
terminate at the Cable Station at Skewjack, nr. Polgigga .
