Head Deposits - Western Cove (S35)

A closer view of Head deposits in the low cliffs and an isolated Stack .
The Head deposit of pebbles , gravel , sand and clay is over 30m deep in places - 2m deep near Langerstone Point .
Head was layed down during the Periglacial period by the downward sliding of erosion products usually
as a result of freezing and thawing.
This head extends back to outcrops of the former cliff line , shown by the Crags in the pic.
