Lynmouth Harbour

The Rhenish Tower was built (c.1860 ) by General Rawdon to store salt water for indoor baths.
It was later fitted with an electric light for use as a beacon.
A small stone tower with machicolated balconies, built in imitation of look-out towers on the Rhine in Germany.
The tower was badly damaged during the August 1952 flood and faithfully rebuilt in 1954.
