Chambered Tomb - Broadsands

A collection of large stones , incorporated into a hedge bank , on the southern slope of hilly ground overlooking the coast at Broadsands .
The remains of a Neolithic chambered tomb or passage grave (3600BC)
The chamber was constructed of upright slabs (orthostats) covered with huge capstones , one of which remains lying at an angle.
The chamber would have been encased in a mound of stones / earth forming a near circular cairn .

Location - The road down to Broadsands Beach passes a Viaduct and a row of houses .
A yard on the left links to a farm track which climbs up the hill to farm buildings.
The monument - on private land - can be seen in the hedge on the right.
