Permian Breccia - Maidencombe Beach (S37)
Numerous Breccia blocks surround the beach.
The Permian age Sandstones are of Contintental origin , laid down by rivers and lakes in an arid, desert landscape.
Flash floods swept stones and rocks through the valleys , laying down the Breccias .
Breccia Rocks can also be seen at Watcombe Beach - to the south of Maidencombe.
