Rock Carvings - Rocky Valley
Rock Carvings - Rocky Valley

Two Seven Ring Rock Carvings (Petroglyphs) are incised into the rock face at the back of
the ruined 18C Trewethett Mill ( cloth and yarn mill until 1861)
The Classical Labyrinths (23cm diameter) were recorded in 1948 by S. J. Madge,
who wrote a guidebook on the area.
The M.O.P.W. Plaque suggests they from the Early Bronze Age (1800-400BC) , similar to Galician Style Designs ,
but they may be more recent as the carvings appear to have been cut by a chisel !!
--------------------------------------
Location - North East Cornwall - North of Tintagel . On the footpath from the Coast Path along the Rocky Valley
to the Lay By on the B3263 by Trevillett Mill.
